Never the same.

"Its almost like I got killed over in Nam..."
When people go to war they usually don't come back the same. The way of life they had before seems to be just a dream. In this book when they come home from the war they mention they feel.like they left a part of them back in Vietnam. War changed men.

  1. Norman Bowker also said "one thing i hate- really hate- is all those whiner vets." What he meant by this is most soldiers, when they come back from war, expect a parade of people clapping that your back. What they don't know is how horrible war really is and how war changes people.

  2. I believe when u do experience something such as war, a part of u never is the same and forever forgotten. Whether its your childish ways or a fear u once faced coming into the war. When u go through a traumatic experience such as these men, your perspective on life is different and just like Tim experienced when he took his daughter back to the sit of Kiowa's death, only the men that actually witness the trauma, smelt the dead bodies laying around, and constantly lives in far, would only truly understand.
